Athlone Flooding 2015

A set of images comparing the flooding in Athlone in 2015 to a similar flood in 2009. The 2015 images were taken on December 11th and also on December 14th, when the floods were expected to peak. From comparing the images, it looks like the 2009 floods were a little higher. It also looks like the town was better prepared in 2015 - there were flood defences along both sides of the river bank in the town and a battery of pumps deployed to keep the water at bay.
